New full screen text editor. Note that the text editor does auto word wrapping, but cannot go backwards through text using the arrow key. To edit text already typed in press the left arrow and a standard Psion edit dialog comes up. From here you can insert text and use any of the Psion editing tools. When you press enter the new text will be placed correctly into the full screen window. The text editor also has unerase if you erase using Psion. Help & menu keys are active. Use Control arrow to jump word to word while in the Psion editor. . Fastnote application included for the first time with Notepad allows you to save a quick note from the system screen at a greater speed. Install fastnote.opa as an application on the system screen by pressing Psion. It shares code from the Editor but can run at the same time as Notepad. Notes saved while in Fastnote are immediately available in Notepad. Np4.6 accomodates fastnote by adding a feature called Merge Fastnote. This will allow you to merge all notes from the Fastnote application into the currently open notepad. . Project Viewer has new word wrapping in it's half screen text view. . New Peek view lets you look inside an expanded file without opening it up. Use the <*> hotkey. While inside the peek view you can open any other notepad file to view. This is handy if you've got old project files around that you forgot were there. Use the "Open other" option to open file for viewing. Note the eyeballs on the spectator will move if you don't press a key for a couple of seconds. . New repeating alarms: Options: 1. Yearly 2. Monthly by date 3. Monthly by day 4. Monthly (last day) 5. Weekly 6. Daily 7. Workday 8. Restday 9. Every (x) days 10. Every (x) hours ..see the section on repeating alarms in the manual for more info on how they work. . New Alarm Server 3.0 handles the repeating alarms, and also has some fixes for some small problems, and one problem a few users had with crashing while in the Alarm Server. I added a new setting that lets you decide whether or not the Alarm Server bounces back to the last app. This is a pain at times when you're working in the AServer alone and it keeps jumping back to the system screen or the last app you were in. . New Alarm Server driver is supplied for personal use or in freeware utilities. (Asdriver.opo) The test file included to explain new features is called Asdvrtst.opl . The Calendar is now assigned to the tab key. Use the right arrow to expand a note instead of the tab key. It's easier anyway and I thought the tab was perfect for the calendar. The calendar has been fixed also to show Sun as the first day of the week. (to keep it consistent) . Pressing the key alone will bring up a key command chart for all single key presses. If you press the function key fast enough after pressing , you will go directly to the function without entering the command chart view. So if you can't remember the single key press commands just press . . Project checker now comes up at startup time and tells you if any projects are due to complete today. This has also been added to the menu since you might keep Np open for a long while. NEW TIMER FEATURES: ------------------ . New Timer feature - Pause by pressing the

key. The (*) Asterisk shows in the timer window when it is paused. . New Timer feature - Set different billing types to file. When closing a timer you can bill out at any of the preset billing amounts. . New Timer feature - When shutting down Np, all open timers will be saved to file so that when restarting Np, timers are still active. . 4Time application updated to use the same timer data as Notepad. This way active timers will show up in both Notepad and 4Time. Copy the 4_timer.reg to your \note\set directory to register it. This is free to notepad users. . New Log feature - Move Done/Open Done. This will move all done items to a separate file for viewing. The file is created as a notepad so it can be opened and viewed in Np. Use the "Open Done" option to open the notepad with all of the done items. This is probably not fully developed yet as far as printing goes. . New Settings - View mode On/Off key adjusts manually. The viewing mode can now be turned on or off. This is to decide whether or not you want to see the special characters on the screen that show the special functions associated with a note. Use to turn on or off. . Notepad special character viewer - Press the key alone to view all of these special characters that Notepad uses. . Fixed the Linking so that now you don't need to add the path when linking to Word, Data, or Spreadsheet(ROM). It will be added for you. . App files handled in Application linking now. . New Project Viewer views all projects. Notepad updated to handle this. Np creates a new file called Projdata.dbf with all projects. NOTE: Projects won't show up in the Viewer unless you update the records that already have project dates on them. All new records you create will automatically go into the projdata file. New Plug-Ins application - note that Plug-ins don't need to be installed anymore from the Plug-ins application. The Plug-Ins app (Nplugins.opa) is only for the case where you want to uninstall a Plug-In, but leave it in the directory so that it can be re-installed. To install a Plug-In in Np4.6 all you need to do is put the *.plg file into the \Note\plug directory. You may not even need the Nplugins procedure since it's not really needed to install a Plug-In.
